Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
My Recovery Program is built and maintained independently, as part of the developer's own twelve-step work. This policy describes what the app does with what you put into it. Every claim below is one the app's code can be checked against.
There is no account and no server
You never sign up and you never sign in. My Recovery Program has no server of its own, so nothing you write is uploaded to anyone who built it. There is no analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifier, and no third-party code in the app.
Where your data lives
On your device, by default, and nowhere else. If you turn on iCloud backup in Settings, a copy is kept in the private database of your own Apple Account - which your other devices can read and nobody else can, including the developer. Turning backup off deletes that copy.
Contacts
Picking a person needs no permission at all: the system contact picker runs outside the app and hands back one contact. If you separately grant Contacts access, the app reads it only to keep the names and numbers of people you've already added up to date. It never writes to Contacts and never uploads your address book.
Calendar
The app requests write-only calendar access, which is a different permission from being able to read your calendar. It can add a commitment you choose as an event. It cannot see anything already on your calendar.
Messages you send
Assignments and invitations open the system Messages app with the text already written. You choose the recipient and you press send. Nothing is ever sent automatically, and the app cannot read your messages.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled and delivered entirely by your own device. There is no push server, so nothing about what you're being reminded of ever leaves your phone.
Face ID / Touch ID
The optional app lock uses your device's own biometric or passcode check. No biometric data is ever seen by, or available to, the app itself.
Deleting your data
"Delete my data, keep my programs" removes what you've logged and keeps your setup. "Reset everything" removes all of it, on your device and in your iCloud copy if backup was on. Deleting the app removes the device's copy; if backup was on, turn it off first to also remove the iCloud copy.
What this means for the App Store's privacy label
My Recovery Program's listing states Data Not Collected. That's accurate under Apple's definition, where "collect" means transmitting data off the device in a way the developer can access: on-device data never leaves the device; iCloud backup goes to your own private CloudKit database, which the developer cannot read; Contacts are read on-device and never transmitted; messages are composed by the app and sent by you through Apple's own Messages app; calendar access is write-only; and notifications are local. There are no third-party partners, no analytics package, and no network calls other than CloudKit syncing to your own private database.
Children's privacy
My Recovery Program is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age - it doesn't collect information from anyone at all, as described above.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change with it. Material changes will also be reflected in the app's in-app privacy statement (Settings → About → Privacy).
